Open Universities Australia is expanding its online presence through a new business relationship with Fairfax Digital’s jobs website MyCareer.
The addition of the MyCareer channel will give Open Universities access to over 80 per cent of Australian jobseekers online from January 2007. OUA already has an alliance with jobs website SEEK which began in 2005 and is ongoing.
“Given the core of our market is time-poor working professionals we need to get to them where they spend their precious time,” said OUA Business Development General Manager Cratis Hippocrates.
“Online jobseekers are always reviewing their career options and working out if they have the qualifications to change career direction and web spaces like MyCareer and SEEK are the logical places to bring together career change and education.”
MyCareer General Manager Lisa Watts says, “Given the broad reach of quality job seekers that MyCareer attracts through Fairfax’s online and print networks, our audience is likely to pursue further studies to develop their careers. Partnering with OUA is a natural fit.”
“This new relationship also launches the MyCareer Education Centre. This complementary service will help jobseekers learn new skills to improve their job prospects, get that promotion or even land a pay rise.
“We have integrated course content across the site as much as possible; for us it’s about making the experience for our jobseekers as relevant and simple as possible.”
Open Universities has over 20,000 students and is owned by Curtin, Griffith, Macquarie, Monash, RMIT, Swinburne and UniSA. It is Australia’s fastest growing online education service.
