19 March 2007

Over the past year, the number of Information Technology and Telecommunications jobs posted on MyCareer has increased by 83.5 per cent, while searches for tech jobs have increased by 20 per cent.1

“We know that IT & T professionals appreciate good site navigation and usability, which is something we have always placed an importance on. Incorporating essential technologies like RSS feeds and job searching via mobile devices, has also been key in attracting more IT jobseekers and advertisers to MyCareer”, said Lisa Watts General Manager MyCareer.com.au

“According to Roy Morgan in 2006, the number of IT professionals visiting our site also rose by 12.8 per cent compared to 2005.2  This shows that year on year MyCareer is becoming a popular choice for tech jobs.

“As part of a new campaign running through April, the IT & T job search page has been updated to include the site’s first tag cloud and a new section called ‘Ask the Recruiter’ added, where IT recruitment agencies and companies share job tips and advice with jobseekers.”

The page also includes IT job news and access to MyCareer’s Education Centre where jobseekers can study online to boost their technology skills and potential earnings.

According to the MyCareer Salary Centre the average IT & T professional earns $89,088 per year. Top earners in the Technology industry include those working in Architecture with $111,440; IT Sales with $107,119; Project Management with $100,578; and Web Design & Usability with $89,738.
