Q: I am 21 years old and I am finding it hard to get a job because of my age. I'm too old for some jobs and too young for others. What can I do?
A: Being 21 is a great age. Many people reading this would love to be 21 again but, as you are experiencing in some cases, it may be of some disadvantage when you are looking for work. As well as you possibly can, present any previous working experience to employers as a benefit in considering you for work.
You are also able to offer maturity that might not be present in younger job seekers. At the same time, you can also offer employers your youth and capacity to learn in a new job.
Stay positive in your approach to employers. Let them see and hear how genuinely keen you are to work and learn at work. Jobs will come along.
