Student Support

We understand that sometimes it can be difficult to study off-campus. To help make your study experience easier, there are a number of support services available.

Student Advisors
Our Student Advisors are available during business hours to answer any questions you have about studying. Whether it's advice on course selection, individual units, assistance with registration or FEE-HELP, a Student Adviser will be able to help.

Counselling information
Studying can be quite stressful, we have provided some useful links on our counselling page that may help you get through any personal struggles you may have.

Students with a disability
We are committed to supporting students with special needs. Contact our Disability Liaison Officer so we can arrange any study materials you may need in alternative formats. We will require notice of at least one study period to ensure materials can be organised for you in time for the start of the study period.

Open Universities Australia Student Association
Our Student Association actively represents the ideas and needs of students to Open Universities Australia and the universities that provide the units and qualifications.

Not sure who to contact?
Each university has its own team of support staff, so our OUA Student Advisors work together with them to ensure you have a great study experience. University advisors can help you with general study related questions.

Learning centres
There are a number of learning centres, networks, public libraries and community houses located across Australia. You can meet other students from your local area, take advantage of a range of computer and photocopying services and in some cases you may be able to access tuition and invigilation services.

Complaints and dispute resolution
Open Universities Australia takes the satisfaction of students seriously, all complaints are formally investigated.
