This program is designed to develop your communication and analytical skills:  attributes highly valued by all employers. Potential areas of employment include advertising, journalism, teaching, public and private sector administration, human resource management, public relations, research services and media agency work.

Depending on your area of specialisation, the Bachelor of General Studies can be a pathway for postgraduate study in education, librarianship, business, Asian studies, criminal justice, administration, communications or environmental sciences.

Course overview

The Bachelor of General Studies enables you to study widely and pursue your interests, while at the same time working towards a tertiary degree.

This flexible degree is great if you wish to combine study from different disciplines: information technology and psychology, or management and art history for instance. It offers you a unique opportunity to tailor study to meet your individual interests and ambitions.

The program has multiple exit points.  You can exit after completing one major, consisting of eight units, and receive the Certificate of General Studies, or after sixteen units and receive the Diploma of General Studies.
