Course overview

The Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) is for people wishing to become secondary school teachers. It combines academic studies of the foundations of education with methods and practice of teaching in units appropriate to your first degree and/or subsequent postgraduate qualifications.

The program aims to provide curriculum that is current, rigorous, internationally oriented and locally relevant, and promotes ethical professional practice.  It provides
varied and productive pedagogies that challenge and extend all students, while being respectful and inclusive of difference.  The program has an innovative and flexible approach to teaching, learning and assessment.

This program allows you to choose a teaching specialisation in one of the following areas: Accounting, Biology, Business Management, Economics, English, Health, Information Technology, Indonesian, Media Studies, Society and Environment or the Visual Arts.
