AGD’s graduate requirements

AGD is seeking graduates from a wide range of disciplines who are interested in working at the cutting edge of policy and legal development. Graduates are involved in exciting work relating to a range of areas including international prisoner exchange, indigenous law and justice, national security and counter terrorism, identity security, disaster management, telecommunications and surveillance law, money laundering, inter country adoption, family law, illicit drugs, and international assistance and treaties.

AGD offers graduates:

• work rotations offering practical experience under the guidance of experienced law and policy officers
• a comprehensive induction program plus ongoing mentoring, training and development activities throughout the year (including access to study assistance for approved courses)

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must be Australian citizens, or be able to become Australian citizens, and hold as a minimum, a qualification equivalent to a three year, Australian undergraduate degree prior to commencement of the program in February 2010. Applicants must also meet other Australian Public Service requirements which include health, security and character clearances, and evidence of qualifications.
