The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) works at the centre of the Australian Government’s social policy agenda. Our work touches the lives of many Australians and we’re looking for graduates who want an exciting, challenging and meaningful career to work with us.

Why FaHCSIA?

FaHCSIA is the largest spending Australian Government Department, responsible for around one quarter of the Government’s Budget. In 2008-09 this totals $64.275 billion and includes 29 grant programs, 12 payments to state and territories and 19 payment types to individuals.
We strive to combat the economic and social disadvantage experienced by Indigenous Australians, families and their children, older Australians, women, people with disabilities, carers and people who are homeless.
